Sister Andrus and I arrived safe in Charlotte about 1:30 today. (Sunday) We met with our Mission President and his wife at the mission offices. We had a brief overview of our assignments. We attended a wonderful fireside with Elder Bowen and Elder Carlson of the Seventy. They will be the ones touring the mission this week. We will join the tour on Tuesday. Tomorrow we are assisting with some office duties. The drive was safe and great. Beautiful and green. We love you all. Thanks for your concerns and prayers in our behalf. By the way we will be at the Marriott for a couple of weeks waiting for an apartment more suitable and safe. The mission President was not comfortable with the arrangements that were previously made so at his arrangements we are at the Marriott until those arrangements are finalized. It was great to see you both when you traveled through Omaha. However, you must be incredibly busy since your arrival in Charlotte -- no written updates since.. I have yet to see you speak or pontificate at the Democratic Nat'l Convention but perhaps my TV's coverage is sparse. It seems to me there are plenty of people who could benefit from the genuine messages of hope, change, and truth you are called to share. Ironically, Bill Clinton supplied his vision of unadulterated political truth last night. Although he did well, the message you have is one of eternal significance. Keep smiling!
